From the hands of Fuminari Araga, based in Yawata, Kyoto, graceful vessels are born. Building on the traditional technique of using white slip on red clay, known as Kohiki, his pieces have evolved to express the sincere feel of wheel-thrown shapes. . The pieces in this exhibition, made with glazes like cobalt Ruri-yu and amber Ame-yu, borrow from the colors of Japanese folk crafts, express profound depth, and yet are full of warmth. Designed for cuisine, sake, and tea, each vessel is delightful to hold and use. Please join us to appreciate these works with your own eyes and hands.
